Instructions. To switch language direction from English-italian to italian-English or vice versa, click on "change language Direction". Type in the translation of the word and click validate.

If your answer was correct, this word will be removed from the list of possible questions. If it was wrong, you will be told the correct answer and then asked another one - the word you got wrong may pop up again. So as you get more and more right, the list gets shorter and the ones you don't know come up more often. To choose a smaller initial word list choose a "set" and click OK. Then the number of possible words will be restricted to a small list. Each of the sets listed is a different shorter list. This helps to concentrate on remembering fewer. If you get fed up of certain words, and you have an account (write to me at giles at gilestv dot commy if you want one - or if you are interested in a copy of the source code - I also have a version for multiple choice testing) you can block certain words from the list using "do not ask me this again". As the database is loaded into javascript, you can also work on a given test offline. The word barring functionality is not available and you must not press return.
